How it happened.
On March 21st 2009, Alicia started out her day with a day at the spa with Wendy. After they came back from having massages, pedicures, manicures, and facials, she was like a wet noodle. We then loaded up and made our way out to Jackson, CA. There is an old bookstore (Hein & Co.) that she loved. So I told her we would go spend the afternoon there just looking over thousands and thousands of old books. Once we got there we went looking and exploring the shelves of imagination. After we were there for about 2 hours we decided to go dinner. We had decided to go to an old steak house down the road of the bookstore, but we came to find it had been closed down. So, we decided to go to another café/bar and grill, and came to find they were closed for renovations.
By this time I was hungry, Alicia was starving and so I made the suggestion of going to the Jackson Rancheria Casino, knowing that you can always get a good steak at a casino. So Alicia agreed and we made our trek out to the Casino. Once we got to the turn off, it was another few miles into the Reservation before we got to the actual casino. We made our way up and up and up and up and up the Parking garage until we found a parking spot…. Yes, the 5th floor before we found an open spot. Alicia was so ready to eat that she just about jumped out of the truck. I told her to hold on a minute. I had got her a special book. (She was thinking, I don’t remember you getting a book while at the bookstore aside from the Odyssey.) As, I pulled out a bible and handed it to Alicia she noticed that the cover had a silver text on it. “Alicia Carter” It clicked in her mind, and as she looked up from the bible, she saw me pulling out the ring. I then asked her that question that she was dying to hear. “Alicia, I love you so much, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Will you marry me?”
SHE SAID YES!!!!
Then we sat in the truck for the next 45 minutes making phone calls to friends and family. Once we made all those calls and texts, we decided to go in to Lone Wolf. (Very fancy casino restaurant) We then went in and looked at the menu…….after taking a breath because of the shock of their prices, we both ordered filet mignon, twice backed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. MMMM it was good. It was a perfect evening with my new fiancé’.
